Update on the Unitary Patent (UP) and Unified Patent Court (UPC) for IPLAC

After years of uncertainty, both the Unitary Patent (UP) and the Unified Patent Court (UPC) could be live as early as 2023.

The new systems will introduce centralised patent protection and enforcement in Europe. They will impact all existing European patents and applications. Patent owners will need to make strategic decisions for their EP portfolios within the coming months.
